Private Health Care Covered by the Public Automobile Insurance Plan

Québec's public automobile insurance plan provides for financial compensation for various types of private health care you may receive as a result of a traffic accident, such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy, dentistry or other treatments.

If you are a victim of a traffic accident, here are the private health care treatments for which you may apply for financial compensation.

Other health care

The plan does not cover medical consultations, radiological examinations or surgery, since they are already covered by Québec's public health care plan.

Every year, the SAAQ pays an amount to the consolidated fund of Québec that represents the annual cost of services rendered to traffic accident victims.

• Reimbursement of Chiropractic Care Expenses

  If you were injured in a traffic accident, the SAAQ may reimburse chiropractic treatment expenses.

• Reimbursement of Physiotherapy Expenses

  If you were injured in a traffic accident, the SAAQ may reimburse physiotherapy expenses.

• Reimbursement of Occupational Therapy Expenses

  If you were injured in a traffic accident, the SAAQ may reimburse occupational therapy treatments.

• Reimbursement of Psychological Treatments

  If you were injured in a traffic accident, the SAAQ may reimburse psychological treatments.

• Reimbursement of Dental Care Expenses

  If you were injured in a traffic accident, the SAAQ may reimburse certain dental treatments and prostheses.

• Reimbursement of Acupuncture Treatments

  If you were injured in a traffic accident, the SAAQ may reimburse acupuncture treatments.
