Reimbursement of Physiotherapy Expenses

If you were injured in a traffic accident, the SAAQ may reimburse physiotherapy expenses.

What you should know

You will be reimbursed under these 3 conditions:

• the treatments are related to the accident and medically required
• the treatments were prescribed by a physician or specialized nurse practitioner
• the treatments were given by a member of the Ordre professionnel de la physiothérapie⁠ ⁠ du Québec

We may also deny or end the reimbursement of treatments where they no longer improve your physical condition.

We base our decision on the information provided by the physiotherapist and the clinical examination notes provided by the attending physician or specialized nurse practitioner.

Reimbursable amounts

At a private clinic

We reimburse a maximum of $65 per treatment.

At home

If the nature of your injuries requires you to receive physiotherapy treatments at home, we reimburse a maximum of $75 per treatment.

Claiming reimbursement from the SAAQ

Expenses are reimbursed on presentation of the following documents:

• the prescription

AND

• the receipt or invoice

It is your physiotherapist who will complete the reimbursement claim form and send it to us with the supporting documents.

Make sure your claim number is written on both these documents.
