Contesting a Decision by the SAAQ

If you disagree with a decision rendered by the SAAQ in your compensation file, you can contest it.

1 What you should know

If you disagree with a decision we have rendered in your compensation file, you can contest it within a period of 60 days after the reception date of that decision.

2 Filling out the form

When you receive the decision by the SAAQ, you have 60 days to file an application for review.

3 Processing your application and the decision

Once you have sent your application for review and the required documents, we have a period of 90 days to render our decision.

This deadline may be extended if you wish to submit new documents or if the review officer requests that you submit additional documents or undergo another medical examination.

The review officer's role

The review officer will contact you or your representative within 10 business days of receiving your application for review to clarify the nature of your application and better understand your situation. 

The review officer's decision

The review officer will render a decision after analyzing the elements in your file and in accordance with the law and regulations. You or your representative will receive the decision by mail.

4 Further recourse

If you disagree with the review officer's decision, you have a period of 60 days after the reception date of the decision to contest it before the Administrative Tribunal of Québec.
