Hand-Crafted Trailers

Several obligations must be met when it comes to hand-crafted trailers. These obligations vary depending on the weight of each trailer. It is therefore recommended that you consult the Guide de construction de remorques de fabrication artisanale (PDF, 1.6 MB)⁠ ⁠ (in French only) before you start building it.   
Before registering a hand-crafted trailer you have purchased or built, you must follow specific instructions based on its weight to make sure you meet road safety standards. 

If you purchase or build a hand-crafted trailer, you must have it registered at an SAAQ service centre or at one of its licensing agents.
