If you were injured in a traffic accident and your state of health has deteriorated or worsened, you can ask the SAAQ to reassess your compensation.

  If you were injured in a traffic accident and your state of health has deteriorated or worsened, you can ask the SAAQ to reassess your compensation.

  Here are the eligibility conditions:

  • You previously suffered a period of disability because of your traffic accident and that period ended.
  • You resumed your occupations, your work or the work we determined for you, but your state of health has deteriorated and you are once again unable to pursue your activities.

  You can apply for:

  • income replacement
  • care expenses
  • reimbursement of certain expenses

      We will refund you up to $93 for the cost of the detailed medical report issued by your physician. To demonstrate that your state of health has deteriorated, you must consult a physician of your choice. 

      The medical report issued by your physician must show the connection between your relapse and the traffic accident.

  Cost of the medical report

  We will reimburse you up to $93 for the cost of the medical report.

  Finding a physician

  Unfortunately, the SAAQ cannot help you find a physician or get an appointment more quickly. If you do not have a physician, refer to the list of network clinics in your area⁠ ⁠.

  Remember to write your claim number on all documents you enclose with your application.

      • We will refund you up to $93 for the cost of the detailed medical report issued by your physician.

  • • Documents to provide

      • Detailed medical report or any other medical document

  Once we have received your documents, your application will be analyzed and a written decision will be mailed to you.

  If you disagree with the decision, call us for more information. If you are still unsatisfied, you have the right to contest the decision.

• 6 In the event of a traffic accident

  If you are the victim of a traffic accident, you must report it so that we can open a compensation file.
