Any SAAQ bill or regulation that concerns or could affect businesses is subject to an impact assessment.
Under the Politique gouvernementale sur l'allègement réglementaire et administratif (Order 32-2014), available on the Ministère de l'Économie, de l'Innovation et des Exportations's Web site, every government ministry and body must carry out a regulatory impact assessment in cases where a bill or regulation concerns or could affect businesses.
Regulatory impact assessments allow us to ensure that the adoption of a bill or regulation imposes the lowest possible cost and impact on businesses.
Such assessments must also demonstrate that there is a problem and that, in order to solve it, non-regulatory or non-legislative solutions have been considered, if appropriate.
