Heavy vehicle owners and operators must be familiar with and comply with the rules governing road transportation of goods and passengers.

  • A road vehicle with a gross vehicle weight ratingA vehicle's weight, including its maximum load capacity, according to the manufacturer's specifications. (GVWR) of 4,500 kg or more
  • A combination of road vehicles with a gross combination weight rating of 4,500 kg or more
  • A tow truck
  • A road vehicle transporting dangerous substances requiring the display of safety marks
  • A bus
  • A minibus

Obligations regarding heavy vehicles

Heavy vehicle owners and operators also have many responsibilities, some of which they share. These responsibilities concern, in particular, the following subjects:
