Motorcycles with a cylinder capacity of 401 cc and over, or a power rating of over 35 kW
According to the SAAQ’s data, the risk of accidents causing bodily injury is directly linked to cylinder capacity, type of motorcycle and years of riding experience.
For the purposes of calculating your insurance contribution rate, your years of riding experience include the years you acquired as a Class 6A, 6B or 6C learner’s, probationary and regular licence holder and as a Class 6R learner’s licence holder. Any years of riding experience you acquired outside Québec that have been recognized by the SAAQ are also included in the calculation.
In the case of a co-owned motorcycle where no registrant has been designated, the insurance contribution rate is that for motorcyclists with less than 3 years of riding experience.
