Vehicle Towing and Impoundment Fees

A vehicle that is seized is towed and impounded at the owner's expense. Here are the towing and impoundment fees charged when your vehicle is seized.

The Regulation respecting the towing and impounding charges for seized road vehicles and the threshold for the value of unclaimed seized road vehicles came into force on June 1, 2023. It introduces new rates and fees, which will be indexed every three months as of August 2023. Refer to the tables below for the current rates and fees. A list of previous fees is also available.

Note that the previous rates and fees continue to apply to any vehicles seized before June 1, 2023. For those rates and fees, please refer to the list of previous towing and impoundment fees (PDF, 450.2 ko).

Owners who do not claim their seized vehicle at the end of the impoundment period must also pay the fees incurred to dispose of the vehicle. For information regarding these fees, see the “Disposal of an unclaimed impounded vehicle” table on the Fees for other services page.
