Every year, on average, around 30% of drivers and passengers killed in traffic accidents aboard passenger vehicles were not buckled up. This figure is even higher—37.1%—for backseat passengers.
The 2018 campaign—“Buckle up. In front and in back.”—aims to remind people of the importance of buckling up, in the front seat and the back seat.
Research shows that if all vehicle occupants buckled up, there could be 30 fewer deaths and 75 fewer seriously injured accident victims every year.
Fastening your seat belt is a simple step that can save lives!
