Car Surfing and Street Racing: Did You Know?
Even though car surfing and street racing are prohibited and dangerous activities, some people still take the risk of facing stiff penalties and putting lives in danger.

Car surfing
In 2020, there were 53 offences for car surfing in Québec.
Street racing
Offences for street racing decreased between 2014 and 2020, from 100 to 11 per year.
What is "car surfing"?
- It means keeping your balance on a vehicle, in the box of a pick-up truck or in a trailer, or being pulled by a vehicle while riding on:
- a skateboard
- a bike
- a couch
- a carpet
- etc.
Stiff penalties for everyone who participates in car surfing or street racing
Whether you are the driver, a passenger, the car surfer or the person lending their vehicle to someone who participates in such activities, the same penalties apply to everyone.
