          Drugs and Medication

          Driving while impaired by drugs or medication is an increasingly worrisome phenomenon. All these substances affect the brain and are incompatible with driving an automobile. Police officers are now trained to detect them.

          • What the Law Says

            Driving while impaired by alcohol, drugs or medication is a dangerous behaviour that is severely punished under the Criminal Code and the Highway Safety Code.

            If you drive while impaired, you could be subject to stiff penalties under the Highway Safety Code and the Criminal Code.
