Don’t drive dead tired. Stop before fatigue stops you.
This campaign aims to remind drivers that fatigue affects their ability to drive and can cause accidents. That’s why you need to take breaks during long trips and stop, at the first sign of fatigue, to take a nap or change drivers.
Never wait until you nod off. Fatigue starts long beforehand with these telltale signs:
- frequent yawning
- tired or itchy eyes
- difficulty concentrating and staying alert
- slower reaction times
- irritability, aggressiveness or agitation
- erratic or disorganized thoughts
- trouble interpreting your surroundings (for example, you think you see a shadow on the road)
- difficulty maintaining a constant speed and trajectory
