The 2020 campaign—whose theme is “Adapt your driving. Slow down and keep a safe distance.”—encourages drivers to adapt their driving and reminds them that slowing down and keeping a safe distance are good habits to develop and practice at all times because weather and road conditions can change quickly.
In winter, weather and road conditions can change quickly, be difficult and catch you off guard—for example, when there is black ice on the roadway. When it is nice out, drivers sometimes tend to drive faster, thereby increasing their risk of being involved in an accident. It’s therefore important to drive carefully at all times.
