This awareness campaign aims to improve safety in or near road work zones. The campaign is directed at all drivers and seeks to make road work zones as safe as possible, for both road users and workers.
Nearly 80% of road accidents resulting in injury are caused by drivers’ behaviour. Hence the importance of respecting the orange work site signs, especially the posted speed limit. To properly reflect the danger that speeding in a road work zone represents, fines are doubled for this offence.
