What can you do if you have doubts about your loved one’s ability to drive?

A person’s state of health can affect their ability to drive. All drivers, regardless of their age, must meet health and vision requirements.

If you have reasonable doubts about whether someone you know is able to safely drive a vehicle due to their state of health, sound the alarm by reporting the situation to the SAAQ. In doing so, you will ensure this person’s safety and that of other road users. You can report someone in complete confidentiality and, if you wish, remain anonymous.

In accordance with established procedures, the SAAQ will determine what steps the individual will be required to take (e.g. provide a medical report or take a road test) The SAAQ will then decide whether this person is able to drive a vehicle.

If you witness dangerous behaviour on the road, do not hesitate to contact the police.

Road safety is everyone’s business!
