Awareness Campaigns

2009 Snow Removal Campaign

“Operation Snow Removal”

In 2009, the SAAQ launched its first awareness campaign to reduce the risk of accidents during snow removal operations.

The goal of the campaign was to encourage pedestrians and motorists to stay back from snow removal trucks.

The TV campaign featured two components:

  • commercials based on the tactical component were only broadcast during snow removal operations
  • commercials based on the awareness component were broadcast at any time

The campaign also included a radio ad, an editorial ad and a print ad published in certain Montréal dailies.

Soyez vigilant. Le temps qu’on dégage. – Volet Tactique

The commercials featured several vehicles plowing snow during a snow removal operation. Various trucks can be seen busily clearing the screen to a lively musical soundtrack while an off-screen voice calls on road users to stay back from snow removal trucks and equipment for their own safety.
