Reimbursement of Expenses and Document Submission

You can now go online to submit certain claims for expenses, as well as the documents required to process your claim for compensation.

Online request for reimbursement of the following expenses:

  • expenses for an overnight stay (travel, meals and lodging)
  • clothing expenses
  • cost of eyeglasses or contact lenses
  • eye examination fees
  • physiotherapy, psychology, chiropractic, occupational therapy, and acupuncture fees

Document submission

Submission of documents required to process your claim for compensation (medical reports, invoices, receipts and letters for your compensation officer).

Using this service will allow you to benefit from quicker processing times (no more mailing times).

Before you start

Have on hand:

  • the claim number
  • personal identification information (last name at birth, first name, date of birth and postal code)
  • a scanned version of your documents in one of the supported formats: PDF, JPEG or PNG

We also wish to remind you that your claim number and personal identification information should be kept confidential.

Who can use this service?

Accident victims who have a claim number or their representatives.

If you are unable to provide a scanned version of your documents, you can send them to us by fax at 1-866-289-7952, or by mail to the following address:

Document formats

Make sure you save a scanned version of the document(s) in one of the supported formats: PDF, JPEG or PNG.

You have several options:

  • take a photo of the document with your cell phone, tablet or digital camera (JPEG or PNG format)
  • use a scanner (PDF format)
  • have the document scanned in a copy or printing centre (PDF format)
  • The maximum file size per document is 5 MB (5,120 KB)
  • Make sure that all documents are clear and legible and have been signed, if applicable.

Important information

Your compensation officer will process your scanned documents within a few days.

If you have submitted documents using this online service, do not send them to us by mail or fax as well, otherwise processing times will be longer.

Please note that the SAAQ has the responsibility to evaluate the connection between the expenses you claim and the traffic accident, as well as their relevance and necessity. In case of acceptance, the amounts reimbursed are established in accordance with the Automobile Insurance Act and its regulations.

Types of scanned document

Here are the types of scanned document that can be submitted:

  • forms required to complete your claim for compensation
  • invoices for fees for which you are requesting reimbursement
  • medical reports
  • other documents required to process the claim

To use the SAAQ’s online services, you must enable cookies in your browser.

Please do not use trial versions of software or software under development (alpha, beta, RC).
