Tow trucks have the green light!
Amendments to the Flashing Green Light Regulation come into force on December 21, 2023. These amendments allow owners of tow trucks to install flashing green lights on their vehicles. Tow truck drivers will be able to activate their flashing green lights when the two following conditions are met:
- Their presence is required by an emergency service.
- The flashing yellow lights on the tow truck are activated.
However, vehicles equipped with a flashing green light are not considered emergency vehicles.
As road users, show courtesy when you see a vehicle with a flashing green light approaching. By doing so, you make it easier and faster for the driver of that vehicle to get to the scene of an accident.
