The thaw period for roads in Zone 2 and Zone 3 is expected to begin on Monday, March 27. However, depending on changing weather conditions, this date may be brought forward or pushed back.
During the thaw period, heavy vehicles travelling on the road network must make sure their loads comply with the thaw period load limits set under the Vehicle Load and Size Limits Regulation. These restrictions serve to limit damage to the road surface, which is 30% to 70% more fragile than usual.
