One Death Per Day

“We are all responsible for our conduct on the road.”
On average, one person dies every day on Québec roads. This has to change.
Victims include cyclists, pedestrians, motorcyclists, drivers, passengers and heavy vehicle drivers. They are children, parents, grandparents, brothers, sisters, friends, colleagues... You can ignore a statistic. You can’t ignore a human being.
To illustrate the devastating impact of traffic accidents, a video depicting a potential victim will be broadcast each day from May 18 to July 19, 2026.
You can help reduce the number of traffic accident victims by adopting the following safe behaviours:
- Obeying the speed limit and the Highway Safety Code
- Avoiding distractions when driving
- Not driving when you have consumed alcohol or drugs
- Not driving when you are tired
- Sharing the road with courtesy and keeping an eye out for vulnerable road users
- Adapting your driving based on road conditions
