“We are all responsible for our conduct on the road.”
In 2025, 35 people lost their lives on Québec roads during the two-week construction holiday, which represents close to a third of all deaths during the summer season (June, July and August). These two weeks were the deadliest in all of 2025.
Consequently, the SAAQ is launching a new campaign to encourage Quebecers to adopt safe behaviour on the road during the construction holidays. To do so, they will be invited to sign a white hearse, which will act as a mobile contract. The hearse will travel to multiple tourist destinations throughout the province at the start of the construction holidays.
