In 2017, the SAAQ has undertaken to coordinate several awareness-raising efforts aimed at motorcyclists, both through public activities and in specialized media.
The efforts put forth during the 2017 motorcycle season aim to make motorcyclists think about how vulnerable they are and encourage them to be careful and to adopt safe, predictable and respectful behaviours on the road. The general theme is “Ride Safely.”
Riding a motorcycle is not without risk: motorcyclists have little protection and are sometimes hard to see. Riders’ knowledge, skill and behaviour all play an important part in ensuring their safety. In addition, weather and road conditions are elements that cautious motorcyclists should take into consideration. Ensuring safety can be a challenge when sharing the road with other users, especially motorists.
