“Pull over before you nod off.”

The goal of the 2016 campaign is to raise driver awareness about fatigue at the wheel, which is dangerous long before drivers find themselves on the verge of falling asleep.

Le rêve brisé de Nicolas (Nicolas’s broken dream)

On June 16, 2015 at 5:30 a.m., two young Quebecers, including 18-year-old Nicolas Lessard, died in an accident caused by fatigue at the wheel as they were on their way to Western Canada. Four young people were in the vehicle when it strayed from its lane and collided head-on with a vehicle travelling in the opposite direction. Nicolas’s parents reflect on the incident.

Le 16 juin 2015 à 5 h 30 du matin, deux jeunes Québécois, dont Nicolas Lessard, 18 ans, sont décédés dans un accident causé par la fatigue au volant, alors qu’ils se rendaient dans l’Ouest canadien. Quatre jeunes prenaient place dans la voiture quand cette dernière est sortie de sa voie et est allée heurter de plein fouet un véhicule qui circulait en sens contraire. Mario Vaillancourt, porte-parole à la SAAQ, s’entretient avec les parents de Nicolas.

Gabriel Pouleur reflects on the serious road accident he was in that took the lives of two of his friends on June 16, 2015, as they were heading to Western Canada. The accident, caused by fatigue at the wheel, led to the death of his best friend, Nicolas.
