2013 Pedestrians Campaign

“Distraction, Carelessness and Impatience Can Leave Marks”

In October 2013, Pedestrian Month, the SAAQ worked to raise pedestrian awareness about the importance of being vigilant.

The purpose of the poster campaign – on the theme “Distraction, Carelessness and Impatience Can Leave Marks” – was to encourage pedestrians to obey traffic signs and signals, cross at intersections and beware of heavy vehicle blind spots.

Pedestrian safety operations were led by law enforcement departments in several municipalities, and included the “Bon pied, bon œil” campaign and other similar activities. These initiatives encouraged obeying traffic rules with special emphasis on the importance of vigilance and courtesy on the road for both pedestrians and drivers.

From September 30 to October 27, 2013, a poster campaign took place in the Zoom Média network, more specifically in the 1000 De La Gauchetière hallway leading to the Bonaventure Metro station as well as in bus shelters in Montréal, Québec and Gatineau (in French only).
