The Basics of Driving
Here are some videos to help you better understand the basics of driving.
Purpose of the videos
- Promote safe driving behaviours
- Simplify Québec’s traffic rules and regulations
- Help candidates prepare for their driving tests
These videos should be considered tools that complement your driving education. They present safe behaviours to adopt in specific contexts. They do not replace proper training or refresher courses, but they can help drivers better understand concepts that encourage safer passenger vehicle driving.
Description
Each video addresses a key concept of road safety and has two versions:
- Interactive version: includes interactive segments throughout the video to test comprehension and a final quiz
- Non-interactive version: includes a quiz at the end
Preparing to Leave and Visual Checks
- Prepare and check your vehicle before getting on the road.
- Learn about the importance of observing your surroundings when driving.
Right-of-Way
- Learn about the right-of-way on the road network.
Intersections with Traffic Lights
- Learn more about turning left at a steady or flashing green light.
- Learn about turning right at a red light.
Right-of-Way at Intersections with Stop Signs
- Learn more about intersections with four-way and two-way stops.
