Each year, the SAAQ sends a notice for you to renew registration of your vehicle.
If you paid your vehicle registration renewal fees on or after January 26, 2023, your payment may not yet appear in your file. However, it should appear on SAAQclic by mid-April.
Please note that this will not affect you in any way. However, if you have been served a ticket because of this situation, please call us at 1‑800‑361-7620.
Pay by the deadline indicated on the notice.

Change: If you had chosen bimonthly pre-authorized debits (6 instalments per year), please note that this option is no longer available. Instalments will instead be withdrawn 12 times per year. Smaller amounts for less hassle!
If your last name begins with the letter D, E or F and your vehicle registration renewal fees are due in May, you may not have received your payment notice yet. Your notice will be available on SAAQclic by May 4, and will be mailed to you by May 15. You will have until June 16 to make your payment.
The registration of a passenger vehicleA motor vehicle, other than a motorcycle, a moped and a minibus. If the passenger vehicle is used by a diplomatic corps or a consular corps, registration is renewed in March.
You may not have yet received a payment notice for your vehicle registration renewal fees for a motorcycle, moped or motorized scooter, farm tractor or motor home. Your notice will be available in SAAQclic by April 16, and will be mailed to you by April 21. You will have until May 31 to make your payment.

There is no annual renewal of registration for a farm trailerA trailer with a net weight of 2,300 kg or less owned by a farmer and used primarily to carry farm produce or the equipment required to produce it..
To obtain the special rate on registration, you must have a valid membership card issued by the Union des producteurs agricoles (UPA) or the Ministère de l'Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l'Alimentation (MAPAQ).
If you send your payment by mail, you do not have to enclose your card.
Registration of a truckA road vehicle having a net weight of more than 3,000 kg, designed and outfitted primarily for freight transport or for carrying equipment that is permanently attached to the vehicle. The owner of a trailer pays to register it only once, either when it is registered the first time or when title is transferred to a new owner.

Keep your registration payment notice. You may need it to notify us of a change of address or modifications to the vehicle during the year.
If a vehicle is no longer in your possession or is no longer in use, you must inform the SAAQ before the payment due date. You must indicate the reason why you are not renewing your registration on the renewal notice and mail it to us.
Otherwise, you will have to pay registration fees, which will be calculated based on the date you informed us. In addition, late fees may apply.
