More SAAQ Services in Nunavik
Under the agreement to improve accessibility to SAAQ services in Nunavik, the SAAQ intends to assign a new resource person to provide additional services in the region.
This resource person will be responsible for providing driving assessment services for the SAAQ’s knowledge and road tests and conducting road safety awareness and prevention activities. Driver’s licence accessibility will be increased in Nunavik and the population will benefit from activities that have been adapted to their regional reality.
In addition, having the knowledge test translated into Inuktitut will improve success rates among drivers in Nunavik. Providing a driving test in an Indigenous language is a first in Québec.
The agreement was concluded between the SAAQ, the Kativik Regional Government (KRG), the Ministère des Relations avec les Premières Nations et les Inuit, the Ministère du Travail, and the Ungava riding.
