Motorcycle
You will learn how to handle a motorcycle, share the road and apply the OEA strategy (Observe – Evaluate – Act). The course has a minimum duration of 32 hours:
A six-hour theoretical component
A 16-hour practical component on a closed track
A 10-hour practical component on the road (the last hour is reserved for your evaluation)
You can register for a driving course before you turn 16 to complete the theoretical component of Block 1.
Learner’s licence (Classe 6R)
YYou must hold a learner’s licence to operate a motorcycle during your driving course. To learn how to prepare for the SAAQ’s knowledge test, visit Obtaining a Driver’s Licence: Motorcycles (Classes 6A, 6B and 6C).
Course structure
The course consists of two blocks. You must take at least 30 days to pass this course.
Block 1: Driving on a closed track
- Theoretical training to prepare you to operate a motorcycle on a closed track
- one block of three hours
- Practical training: driving on a closed track
- four blocks of four hours each (16 hours)
Block 2: Driving on the road
- Theoretical training to prepare you to operate a motorcycle on the road
- one block of three hours
- Practical training: driving on the road
- five blocks of two hours each (10 hours)
If the instructor concludes that you have passed the course, the driving school will give you an attestation.
