The procedure to register the motor home is different if you are an individual.

The business must be registered in the register of owners and operators of heavy vehicles of the Commission des transports du Québec (CTQ) if it owns a motor home with a gross vehicle weight ratingA vehicle's weight, including its maximum load capacity, according to the manufacturer's specifications. of 4,500 kg or more.
If the business purchasing the motor home is not registered with the CTQ, it may still register the vehicle, but it cannot put it into operation.

The person registering the vehicle will have to present the original copy of a document authorizing that person to act on its behalf.
It is considered to be an imported vehicle. In that case, there are other documents you have to present so that we can verify whether the vehicle is authorized for road use in Québec.

Whether the motor home is new or used, the buyer must pay the GST and QST if the vehicle is bought from a dealership, business or self-employed worker registered for the GST and QST.

If the motor home is purchased from an individual, the buyer is only required to pay the QST.
The business must have a civil liability insurance policy contracted from a private insurer providing minimum coverage of $50,000. The minimum coverage is $1 million if you are a heavy vehicle owner or operator.
