  • a fine of $200 to $300
  • 3 demerit points being added in their driving record
  • 3 points being added under the “operational safety” conduct area in their heavy vehicle driver record

  • 3 points being added under the “operational safety” conduct area in your heavy vehicle owner and operator (HVOO) record

  • Bring up road safety during meetings and awareness-raising sessions, and in newsletters and memos

  • Have drivers sign an agreement in which they commit to always wearing a seat belt
