Contesting a Decision by the SAAQ

If you disagree with a decision rendered by the SAAQ in your compensation file, you can contest it.

1 What you should know

If you disagree with a decision we have rendered in your compensation file, you can contest it within a period of 60 days after the reception date of that decision.

When you receive the decision by the SAAQ, you have 60 days to file an application for review.

Remember to write your claim number on the form and all the documents you enclose in support of your application for review.

3 Processing your application and the decision

Once you have sent your application for review and the required documents, we have a period of 90 days to render our decision.

This deadline is extended by 90 days if you wish to submit new documents or if the review officer requests that you submit additional documents or undergo another medical examination.

The review officer's role

Your application for review will be analyzed by a review officer, who will phone you to discuss your application. It is also possible to meet your review officer.

The review officer's decision

You will receive the review officer's decision by mail.

4 Further recourse

If you disagree with the review officer's decision, you have a period of 60 days after the reception date of the decision to contest it before the Administrative Tribunal of Québec.
