As part of its 2016-2020 strategic plan, the SAAQ set the goal to improve the road safety record. The strategy charts the evolution of the road safety record over the past ten years and specifies priorities for action for 2021-2023. Efforts are to be primarily focussed on 6 priority areas for which specific action plans have been created, and objectives along with success indicators have been set out. The 6 priority areas are: driver distraction, speeding, impaired driving, fatigue, sharing the road and dangerous behaviours.
