Fines

If you are found guilty of one of these offences, you will be assessed a fine.

Additional fees are added to the fine, such as the court fees (subject to change) that apply under the Tariff of court costs in penal matters, as well as a contribution to IVAC (crime victims compensation program).

Driving during a prohibition period

Fines

Following a Criminal Code conviction (impaired driving, dangerous driving, criminal negligence, etc.)

From $1,500.00 to $3,000.00

Following a licence revocation due to an accumulation of:

  • 4 demerit points or more, for holders of a learner's licence or probationary licence
  • 8 demerit points or more, for holders of a driver's licence under age 23
  • 12 demerit points or more, for holders of a driver's licence age 23 or 24
  • 15 demerit points or more, for holders of a driver's licence age 25 and older

From $600.00 to $2,000.00
