Client Groups

Whether they are drivers, passengers or pedestrians, all road users are covered by the SAAQ's public automobile insurance plan and are subject to the road safety and carrier enforcement rules.

For insurance purposes, all Quebecers are our clients

The public automobile insurance plan covers all Quebecers, whether they are drivers, passengers or pedestrians, whether or not they own a vehicle, and whether the accident occurs in Québec or anywhere else in the world.

The plan also protects tourists and immigrants who might become the victims of an accident on Québec's road network.

For road safety purposes, all Quebecers are our clients

Road safety is an integral part of our mission. To this end, we conduct awareness campaigns which, depending on the goal, target motorists, drivers of heavy vehicles, cyclists, motorcyclists, pedestrians and school children.

For carrier enforcement purposes, we target specific client groups

Working through the Contrôle routier Québec agency, we more specifically target the following client groups:

  • drivers, owners and operators of heavy vehicles carrying goods (trucks, etc.) or people (buses, etc.)
  • owners of limousines and taxis
