2017 Pedestrians Campaign

"Seeing to my safety, it works!"

The Pedestrian campaign takes place during October, which is Pedestrian Safety Month. The campaign targets both pedestrians and drivers: 

  • as a driver, I must anticipate the presence of pedestrians, especially at intersections, and yield pedestrians the right of way.
  • as a pedestrian, I must follow certain rules and adopt safe behaviour, since I am also responsible for my safety.

For several years, Pedestrian Month has been a valuable opportunity to raise public awareness.

Public Activities

During October, which is Pedestrian Safety Month, SAAQ carrier enforcement officers and many police departments will conduct various activities concerning pedestrian safety and sharing the road.
