Cell phones are now a ubiquitous part of our everyday lives. Whether for personal or professional use, mobile communications are unavoidable for the vast majority of the population. However, this dependence on technology poses important risks to road safety.
The SAAQ's 2015 campaign – “Be Strong and Resist. Don't Text and Drive.” – aims to make all Québec drivers aware of the hazards and consequences of texting at the wheel.
Although 99% of Quebecers acknowledge the hazards of texting at the wheel, a large proportion of drivers cannot resist doing so.

The SAAQ continues to promote the static window cling to be displayed on vehicles. This awareness-raising tool is available in SAAQ service centres, through road safety partners and in Familiprix pharmacies across Québec.
Introduced as part of the 2012 campaign, the Focus Mode Android application blocks incoming calls and text messages and sends an automated reply to the person who is trying to reach the driver. It can be downloaded free of charge from Google Play.
