Safety is everyone’s business

The purpose of the 2009 campaign – on the theme “Safety Is Everyone's Business” – is to promote the safety of pedestrians and motorists and to make them aware that half of all traffic accidents involving pedestrians occur at intersections.
Throughout Pedestrian Month, that is, from October 1 to 31, pedestrians and motorists are encouraged to make sure they are seen and to obey traffic signs and signals when they encounter each other on the road.
