We strongly advise against trying to disable an airbag yourself, since this is highly dangerous. Only authorized dealers can deactivate airbags safely.
Go to a dealer as soon as possible to check whether your airbags are safe.
If the airbags are not safe and cannot be replaced immediately, ask the dealer to deactivate them temporarily.
You are responsible for expenses related to verifying, deactivating and installing airbags. Costs vary according to the type of vehicle.
If an insurer or an auto body shop was involved in the installation of unsafe airbags, ask them about their policy on the issue.
