The SAAQ's netiquette defines, among other things, moderation rules that apply to comments submitted by Web users and the requirements applicable to the protection of privacy.

Thanks for chatting with us!

We are happy to welcome you to our various social media platforms. You have come to the right place to get informed, express yourself and share your ideas and concerns about road safety and our services.

This netiquette guide defines, among other things, the set of practices to guide users’ behaviour, moderation rules that apply to comments received and the requirements applicable to the protection of privacy.

Because we believe that working together makes us stronger, we want to use social media so that good ideas gain traction. Be part of the solution!

Our Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and LinkedIn accounts are managed by the Direction des communications et des relations publiques.

Please note that we cannot always monitor our feeds and post to our accounts in real time. Our accounts are generally moderated during business hours, from Monday to Friday (except for statutory holidays).

All comments are read and considered. However, we reserve the right to delete any comments that:

  • are defamatory, hateful, racist, xenophobic, homophobic, sexist or rude
  • constitute a form of advertisement, including promotion of products or services
  • are published several times
  • are off-topic
  • contain confidential information, such as personal information

In order to maintain a safe atmosphere and constructive dialogue, we will remove or block any users whose actions are deemed inappropriate or threatening.

We encourage you to share your opinions. However, it becomes less interesting for everyone when a debate turns into a private discussion among a few participants. We therefore invite you to remain inclusive and resist the urge to defend your point of view at all costs against a persistent debater.

Using uppercase in a message is considered shouting. We ask that you avoid doing so. Comments are just as valid and much easier to read when they are written in lowercase.

Protection of personal information

We are committed to respecting privacy. As a result, we cannot go into the particulars of a specific case on social media.

If you want to post photos or videos on our social media pages, make sure that you have the consent of the persons who appear in them.

Protect your personal information and the information of others: be cautious and discreet so that you don't reveal sensitive or personal information if you want to talk about your own experiences.

Intellectual property

We are committed to respecting intellectual property.

Adding links to other sites is authorized, as long as content is related to subjects being discussed. We are not responsible for the content of outside sites.

By publishing content on an SAAQ account, users thereby grant the SAAQ the free and unlimited right to use and publish this content.

We will not compensate in any way persons who submit:

  • ideas
  • screenplays
  • proposals
  • concepts
  • etc.

Responsibility for content

Our decision to follow users does not mean that we support them. We follow accounts that we consider relevant to our mission and our status as a public body.

If information is posted that proves false, we are committed to correcting or removing it as quickly as possible and informing users of the situation.

Finally, we reserve the right to change this policy at any time and without prior notice.

Thank you for following us. We’re looking forward to chatting with you!
