Making an Appointment for a Driving Test – Taxis (Class 4C Driver's Licence)

You can make an appointment online for a knowledge test to obtain a Class 4C driver's licence.

You can make an appointment for the month of September. Appointments for the month of October will be available as of:

  • August 20 for knowledge tests
  • August 21 for road tests

If you cannot make it to your appointment, please change or cancel your appointment as soon as possible to allow another person to take your place.

To make an appointment for a knowledge test to obtain a taxi driver's licence, you must have 12 months of driving experience.

Note: You must be the holder of a taxi driver's licence (Class 4C) in order to obtain a taxi driver's permit. If you are already the holder of a taxi driver's licence, before making an appointment for a knowledge test to obtain your taxi driver's permit, you must first obtain a “certificat de recherche (PDF, 163 KB)” (document issued in French only) confirming that you have undergone a criminal record check covering the last 5 years.

Before the test

You must:

  • have provided us with a medical report
  • have undergone a vision test

Face Coverings

You must wear a face covering that covers both your nose and mouth in all our service outlets, including during knowledge tests. With regard to road tests, it is strongly recommended that you wear a face covering.

On the day of the test

Have on hand:

  • the identity documents and other documents specified in your appointment confirmation

Approximate duration of the test

Knowledge test: 1 hour
