Changing Banking Information

If you are paying for your driver's licence or vehicle registration by pre-authorized debits, you can change your banking information directly online.

Before you start

Have on hand:

  • a cheque specimen in your name or any other document provided by your institution on which your name, the institution number, branch number and your account number appear
  • your driver's licence or your vehicle's most recent registration certificateDepending on your situation, your most recent certificate is the one you received by mail with your last payment notice (regardless of whether you have paid your vehicle registration), the one you received by mail after licensing a stored vehicle online or registering a vehicle with an SAAQclic dealer, or the one you obtained directly from a service outlet when registering a vehicle for the first time, renewing the registration, licensing a stored vehicle or requesting a replacement registration certificate.

Online service hours

Monday through Saturday, from 7:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Sunday, from noon to 11:00 p.m.

Important: Any operation completed after 11:00 p.m. will not be recorded.

Who can use this service?

Individuals paying for their driver's licence or vehicle registration by pre-authorized debits and who want to change their banking information.

Other clients

Businesses must use the online service for businesses (French only).

Individuals who have registered their vehicle under more than one name (joint ownership or joint lease) as well as individuals with one or more subdivisions on file can find out the procedure to follow by phone, or by going to one of our service outlets to make the change.

Individuals receiving compensation following a road accident can phone us to change their banking information.

Important information

When you change your banking information, you must indicate the date on which the change is to take effect, that is, the date on which we can start withdrawing payment from your new account. That way, you can be sure that payment will be withdrawn from the right account at the right time.

Please note that we charge a fee for any refused bank transaction.
