Cheating on a Test Means it Will Take Longer for You to Get Your Licence!
The SAAQ is strengthening its measures to prevent people from cheating on the knowledge and road tests to obtain a driver’s licence. During a knowledge test, the only material that you are allowed to use is the material provided by the SAAQ and a paper dictionary without any illustrations or notes. Other documents and electronic devices (“cheat sheets,” notes, cell phones, smart watches, smart glasses, etc.) are prohibited during the test.
A new measure is coming into effect on June 18, 2026
The wait period to retake a test after cheating and failing is being extended to 90 days. If it’s not the first time the person has been caught cheating, that person will have to wait 180 days.
Important reminder
Anyone found using or possessing any prohibited material or electronic devices at the test, attempting to speak with another candidate or obtain outside assistance, or trying to bribe or intimidate the test supervisor is considered to be cheating and will result in an automatic failure.
