National Impaired Driving Prevention Week
March 16 to 22 is National Impaired Driving Prevention Week, which raises awareness among drivers of this road safety issue that still leads to too many accident victims on Québec roads.
Each year on average, impaired driving is the cause of more than a quarter of fatalities on the road (28%). These deaths were avoidable, and left families broken and friendships destroyed due to poor choices.
We are taking advantage of this prevention week to honour the memory of impaired driving victims and to raise awareness among drivers to change their behaviours and reduce the number of victims.
Let’s work together to ensure fewer people are killed by impaired driving, whether due to alcohol or drugs. We are all responsible for our conduct on the road.
