2026 Mid-Year Road Safety Record — fewer fatalities and injured victims
The SAAQ released Québec’s mid-year road safety record covering January to June 2026.

114, which is 18 fewer than in the same period last year - Victims with serious injuries
499, which is 73 fewer than in the same period last year - Victims with minor injuries
12,085, which is 726 fewer than in the same period last year - Total
12,698, which is 817 fewer than in the same period last year. The average for the previous five years is 12,754 accident victims.
Mid-year road safety record
The mid-year road safety record provides provisional automobile accident data collected during a specific period.
Contrary to the annual road safety record, the mid-year report only covers part of the year and provides provisional statistics which will be fully validated in the remaining months of the year. The mid-year report also plays a role in strategic road safety planning for the current year.
