Minibuses and Small Buses with a Seating Capacity of 24 or Fewer Passengers (Class 4B)Change
To obtain a Class 4B licence to drive a minibus or a small bus with a seating capacity of 24 or fewer passengers, you must have held a Class 5 driver's licence or probationary licence for at least 12 months, be in good health, and pass a knowledge test.
With this licence, you can drive a minibus or a small bus with a seating capacity of 24 or fewer passengers, as well as:
If you hold either a Class 1, 2, 3 or 4A driver's licence, you may also drive Class 4B vehicles.
To carry out school transportation using a minibus or a small bus with a seating capacity of 24 or fewer passengers, you must also hold a certificate of competence.

You must have accumulated 12 months of experience as a holder of Class 5 (automobileVehicle with 2 axles and whose net weight is under 4,500 kg.) driver's licence or probationary licence.
The first step in obtaining a Class 4B driver's licence is to have your eyesight tested and provide us with a medical examination report so that we can ensure that your state of health meets the requirements set out in the Regulation respecting the health of drivers. Two options are available:
In both cases, you must return the form by mail or bring it to one of our service outlets. After we have analyzed the report, we will inform you of our decision regarding your eligibility to obtain a Class 4B licence.

Please note that using a portable electronic device (phone, watch, etc.) to record images during the road test is prohibited. If you fail to respect this rule, you will immediately fail the test.
